Gary (Buff) Mathewson
Strength Coach · Holistic Health Coach · Studying Integrated Functional Nutrition
Gary has spent more than 35 years helping people get stronger, healthier and more confident in their bodies.
He learned his craft from the inside out. He transformed his own physique through training and nutrition and went on to represent Victoria in national bodybuilding competitions. Between 1998 and 2004 he held the title of IFBB Champion across three weight divisions and ranked among Australia's top three bodybuilders.
Today, Gary brings that depth of knowledge to something he finds even more rewarding: helping people build strength that lasts a lifetime. He designs personalised training and nutrition approaches that support energy, independence and long-term health. He is currently deepening his expertise through studies in integrated functional nutrition.
Gary has shared his knowledge on radio and television and has lectured to sporting clubs and Human Movement students at a leading Melbourne university.
Since 2012, Gary and Kimi have run Strongevity together from their private studio in Bayside Melbourne.
Kimi Mathewson
Personal Trainer · Holistic Health Coach · Transpersonal Coach · Studying Integrated Functional Nutrition
Kimi has spent more than 30 years in the fitness industry, including 16 years as a full-time personal trainer. In that time she has learned one thing above all: no single approach fits everyone.
She creates personalised programs that meet each client where they are, physically, emotionally and in the realities of their everyday life. Her approach brings together strength training, nourishing nutrition and mindset coaching, because she believes lasting health comes from caring for the whole person.
As a qualified transpersonal coach, Kimi adds a depth that goes beyond the workout. She helps clients reconnect with what matters to them, build self-trust and create habits that feel sustainable rather than forced. She is currently expanding her expertise through studies in integrated functional nutrition.
Kimi is especially passionate about supporting people in their 40s, 50s and beyond to feel strong, capable and confident in their bodies. She wants them to know that their best years of health can still be ahead of them. Clients describe her as warm, attentive and deeply caring, and she takes great pride in the level of support she offers every person she works with.
